| Koi Agents - How to |
|
Wenever somebody is buying from an agent it is of great importance that the farm from where the fish is sourced is identified. The same holds true for Koishops.. If there are more farms the fish are coming from it is essential that the shipments are prepared separately and that the agent knows about the paperwork prior to shipment. If the agents does not know his paperwork, then its not really professional, and it is to be expected that the rest of the shipping process follows on the same level. If the agents is not transparent about the issues mentioned above, it is also cause for caution, as shipments will be impossible to be tracked back. Furthermore, it is important to get the health certificates and all papers the agents intends to use (samples of thereof) prior to payment and especially shipment. See that all document numbers match (e.g. that not old documents are mixed with new ones). A short guide on health certificates can be found here. In case of a serious doubt, we recommend to first only pay the shipping costs and later on, after 2-3 weeks when it is sure that the fish have no serious disease, pay for the koi, this will motivate the agent to work on a "healthy" level. Make sure the customer quarantains the shipment to an extreme level. assume the shipment has all sicknesses it could possibly have. This is necessary, as an agent has the freedom to source shipments from small, unlicensed farms. If you follow this procedure, things should work out, especially if the financial side of the transaction is attractive. In order to minimize problems for international customers we deemed it necessary to compile this short guideline. We do hope that customers will thus be able to source their koi supplies in Taiwan in a effective way. Should you have had some negative experiences with agents, then please report them to , so that we can investigate the root cause and assist with advice. |
