Taiwan Koishow 2005 Report
The Taiwan Koi Show 2005, held at the outskirts of Taipei, turned out to be a beautiful event. After a final rush to get everything organized, the organizers were able to line up an impressive display of Koi. The bigger sizes saw higher competition as usual, due to new koi show regulations, that required Koi, smaller than 40cm to be individually packed in plastic bags. Consequently some participants turned their focus from competition in all segments, to competing only with 40+ cm Koi. We believe, that such a high number of bigger Koi gave the championship more power.

The grand champion was a Momotaro Koi of the private Koi enthusiast Mr. Chen. Mr. Chen usually does not compete in Koi shows, but after much convincing work agreed to enter one of his Koi into the championship. ZNA judges, as well as Koi show visitors all agreed on the superior quality of this entrant.

TaiwanKOI.COM was happy to be the host for visitors from Germany, Holland and Belgium. An extensive program involving visits to factories and workshops of Koi related products and dry-goods turned out to be very attractive in terms of knowledge transfered, but also goods purchased. TaiwanKOI.COM was happy to be catalyst for future business relationships and strategic partnerships.

After the visit of a Koi shop in Taichung, visitors were busy looking at vividly colored Koi. As a grand-finish all visitors participated in two mud-pond harvests where Koi for shipments to Holland and Germany were selected.

Ms. Yingying Chung, CEO of the Sing Chang Koifarm located in Taiwan, was one of the expert guides, always willing to answer questions. Our visitors from Holland and Germany turned out to be night-active to a high degree, prompting frequent visits to restaurants, nightclubs and bars where the Koi talk never stopped.
